Lie-katten
Konstiga nyheter är det alltsom oftast i tidningen. Nu är det om katten Oscar som fungerar som ett slags lie-katt på ett ålderdomshem i USA. När Oscar hoppar upp och lägger sig vet man att det är fara å färde. Det brukar inte dröja länge innan föremålet för Oscars tillfälliga tillgivenhet trillar av pinn. Vad jag vet har inte mina katter den effekten. I så fall skulle jag behöva inte bara sju liv, utan tusentals!

We read this story today! A beautiful thing.
When our girls were young and they were sick (chicken pox, strep throat, the flu etc... even when both girls here at home had their "wisdom teeth" removed) we would sit with them until they are happier and better.
Cats sense their needs to comfort. Maybe that is why they can comfort themselves with purring.
I hope you understand some of this.

Yes, I understand all of it! And I think that cats, dogs and maybe other pets as well, are really good comforters when people are sick or just very old. They give a sense of well-being just by being close. Maybe thats a big reason why people have pets. :-)
